Serving country for 21 years, this little master has most of the possible cricket records in his name. Last year making 200 runs in ODI which no other batsman could ever do, and this year a world cup. Sachin Tendulkar has done everything for India, that he is not only called hero of the nation but is also acknowledged by other team players as god of the cricket.
Indians and the Indian Cricket team, particularly Dhoni is backing Bharat Ratna award for Sachin Tendulkar. Bharat Ratna award is the greatest civilian award given by the Government of India to some extra ordinary citizen for their remarkable contribution to the country. World Cup winning team on Wednesday joined the growing calls to award batting ace Sachin Tendulkar this award, saying no cricketer deserves it more than him.
“Yes, 200 per cent, because he is an ideal candidate, he has served the country for 21 years with a few more to come. As a cricketer, you know, if he doesn’t get it, then I don’t think there’s anyone who’ll get the Bharat Ratna ever,” Times of India quoted Indian captain M S Dhoni.
“I think he’s done really great things for the country, taking cricket to the next level. He’s known even in places where they don’t know about the game, so I think it’s a very big achievement taking the country forward. He’s done remarkably.”
Nobody has seen the changes in the Indian cricket team as Sachin Tendulkar has seen. He has played with some former legends and now he himself raise his head with closed eyes as a legend. Not just in the batting but he has created trouble for the other teams with his bowling.
A legend who never fell in any controversy, never gave any hurting comments, always stood by the team when in need. There was a time when Sachin Tendulkar used to get bowled, whole team would fall down like a pack of cards. Today it doesn’t happen and we have seen that in the final world cup match.
The current team is ideal who has supported Tendulkar during the game and is supporting him now when it comes to giving the award to this legend. World Cup trophy was his dream which he has achieved but he deserves one more thing that is Bharat Ratna.
Maharashtra Government is strongly supporting Sachin Tendulkar for this award, and we hope Indian government’s top leaders, who enjoyed his game at Mohali and Mumbai consider it soon.
For a cricketer he must have thought about getting the cup as it is the biggest thing in the game of cricket, but he would have never thought of getting this award. For years he did so much for this country, let us do this small thing for him.
